Comfort Loop: Accelerating the adoption of cleaner cooling in Mexico City’s commercial real estate sector

Comfort Loop, a business unit of Grupo CYVSA, a member of Daikin Group, is a prominent CaaS provider for applied HVAC systems in Latin America. Comfort Loop completed a chiller system retrofit project for a commercial real estate building in Mexico City, the Torre Optima II, which has achieved Gold level LEED certification.

A unique as-a-service model for a unique building

Inmobiliaria Brom’s commercial building, Torre Optima II, is working towards obtaining LEED level Gold Certification in operations and maintenance. They signed a contract with CYVSA in September 2020 for their Comfort Loop scheme, which replaces old equipment with more energy-efficient options and includes advanced automation and long-term maintenance.

The contract is structured as a 5-year service agreement, where CYVSA takes care of the implementation, operation, maintenance and repair, rather than a financing or leasing model. The customer pays a fixed monthly fee and receives service-level guarantees for the building’s cooling capacity.

Daikin financed the project and plans to continue supporting the Comfort Loop initiative as a way to tackle challenges in HVAC systems and fight climate change.

A fusion of expertise to mainstream CaaS

Grupo CYVSA is a leading HVAC contractor in Mexico with over 70 years of experience. The company has integrated its operations to become a one-stop solution provider for HVAC projects, managing the quality of a project from engineering and manufacturing to installation and maintenance. Their integration into the Daikin Group, has allowed them to combine Daikin’s strategic vision and strength with CYVSA’s experience, hence, creating Comfort Loop, a cooling-as-a-service provider for Latin America. Comfort Loop is constantly innovating to address the challenges in HVAC systems.
