CaaS E-Summit will Showcase Success Stories: Part 2

Similar to the morning case study session, the afternoon panel discussion on CaaS implementation (scheduled for 19:10 CET on 1 December) will focus on projects from the Latin American (LATAM) region, with some projects from the African and ASEAN region.
This E-Summit agenda highlight will showcase implementation efforts by multiple players currently integrating Cooling as a Service (CaaS) into their business operations. Four CaaS incubator companies will share their experience during this panel session, in addition to MGM Innova Group presenting an exemplary case study from a commercial building in Colombia, as well as Maxwell&Spark describing the potential of CaaS applied within sustainable transport refrigeration.
The session will be kicked-off by Alfredo Nicastro from MGM Innova Group. MGM is currently offering the CaaS model in Colombia in the commercial HVAC sector to the building Q Office in Medellin (see case study here). E-Summit attendees will find out more about how MGM offered a highly efficient air-conditioning solution where they carried out the full investment with every office being billed monthly on a pay-per-use, CaaS model.
The floor will then open to a moderated discussion with four of the companies that were selected to be part of the CaaS Incubator programme in 2020. The purpose of this discussion will be to give insights into the potential operational challenges when integrating a new business model into a company’s operations. During this session, participants will be able to find out more about Grupo Clima’s experience in tailoring the CaaS model to the Costa Rican market with Chris Elizondo; and about BGH’s experience in tailoring the CaaS model to the Argentinian market with Martin Mendoza. After developing a local CaaS contract and pricing model, both companies are now presenting the CaaS solutions to potential adopters in the region. The panel discussion will also invite Anselm LaTouch to describe Cooling Tech’s experience in developing the CaaS model for one of the largest universities in the Caribbean – St. George University in Grenada. Finally, representing a different sector (namely the agricultural cold chain), Srinivas Marella will describe how Coolcrop is tailoring CaaS to reduce food waste in India.
In conclusion of this panel, Michael Kann from Maxwell & Spark will lead the discussion around the role of CaaS within sustainable transport refrigeration. Maxwell and Spark builds, supplies and installs their fully battery-operated electric transport refrigeration systems into large cold chain logistics fleets at no expense to the fleet owner. The fleet owner only pays a single fee for cooling, and this fee is charged on a simple pay-as-you-use basis. Kann’s intervention will also cover the cost of servicing, repairs, and electricity.
This exciting panel discussion on CaaS implementation success stories in different regions of the world will showcase a variety of applications for Cooling as a Service. All speakers will also be available for questions and will have booths where further information will be available.
There will also be a case study panel specific to the Africa and ASEAN region earlier in the day at 09:55 CET.
