Speakers:
- Thomas Motmans is a sustainable energy finance specialist at BASE. Thomas has experience in South America, the Caribbean, Africa and Asia structuring and implementing public / private financial products and risk mitigation mechanisms to accelerate investments in sustainable energy. Since 2018, Thomas manages the BASE “Cooling as a Service” Initiative, which aims to unlock investments in clean and efficient cooling through the innovative pay-per-use business model.
- Chris Elizondo is General Manager of Clima Ideal, one of the companies of Grupo Clima, a Holding leader in the HVAC sector in Central America & the Caribbean. Industrial Engineer with more than 18 years of experience. She has a pioneering role in the development and definition of the Holding’s strategy, which has been a pioneer in leading issues of environmental concerns and the responsible management of refrigerants. As leader of the main importer of air conditioning in the country, she has been participating for several years as a member of the Foreign Trade Commission of the Costa Rican Chamber of Commerce.
- Martín Mendez Decoud is Product Manager at BGH, Smart Division, is responsible of developing business focussed on integral solutions related to energy efficiency and Smart Building for companies, government and people. Martín is managing the development of the Cooling as a Service business line within BGH.
- Alfredo Nicastro is Senior Vice President of Global Operations of MGM Innova Consulting and Socio-Environmental Officer of MSEF II – group investment fund. In this function, it provides leadership to the operations and sales activities of MGM Innova for more than 10 years. Before MGM, Alfredo was Vice President of environmental, energy and industrial systems of CH2M HILL in Latin America. He is a civil and environmental engineer with more than 30 years of experience in consulting, project management and operations in sectors such as climate change, energy, environmental services and infrastructure.

- MGM Innova is a group focused on financing energy efficiency and renewable energy projects. It is composed of three independent companies that provide integrated financial, technical and environmental solutions that contribute to the sustainable use of energy and to climate change mitigation and adaptation.
- Kigali Cooling Efficiency Program (K-CEP) is funding the Cooling as a Service Initiative. K-CEP is a philanthropic collaboration launched in 2017 and managed by Climateworks to support the Kigali Amendment of the Montreal Protocol and the transition to energy efficient, climate-friendly, affordable cooling solutions for all.
