Video case study: Kaer Implements CaaS in Singapore
The Cooling as a Service model supported a mixed use development in Singapore to reduce its energy consumption by over 30 per cent. Air-conditioning provider Kaer recently released a video detailing this CaaS project in Paya Lebar Quarter, Singapore – have a look.
The CaaS Initiative is proud to move forward with its collaboration with Kaer, a Singapore-based provider who pioneered Cooling as a Service in 2013. Kaer considered traditional concerns around the delivery model for cooling a building, as well as current design approaches and usage patterns to see how it could provide better customer experiences for people and businesses, whilst at the same time reducing the energy, and materials required to provide air conditioning to commercial and industrial real estate.
This has led to the development of their Cooling as a Service (CaaS) model called ‘Kaer Air’: an outsourced approach and performance model for indoor cooling. Kaer’s CaaS model greatly simplifies decision-making related to the operation of air-conditioning systems.
Kaer has shown that the business case applies to all markets – both developed and developing. By using technology and artificial intelligence, Kaer delivers mission-critical operations across a diversified portfolio, and thereby effectively manages all business risks which it relieves from their customers. Kaer has also combined CaaS with renewable energy (e.g. they buy Solar-as-a-Service on some of their assets), to deliver systems that use 100 per cent renewable energy and water. The sustainability and business opportunities are massive!
Kaer is currently active in Singapore, India and Malaysia.
