Video: Prof Toby Peters Sees ‘Untapped Potential’ of CaaS in Cold Chain
BASE has published a short, six-minute video interview between Dimitris Karamitsos, Senior Energy Efficiency Business Developer Specialist at the Basel Agency for Sustainable Energy (BASE), and Dr. Toby Peters, Professor in Cold Economy at the University of Birmingham.
Professor Peters speaks on his views of CaaS, and the need to recognise it for its untapped potential. According to him, cooling technology should be rolled out with CaaS as an integrated solution.
He also goes on to describe the role of CaaS in providing cooling to small-scale farmers, and the potential synergies between the cold chain and CaaS that are yet to be developed.
“One of the programmes we’re developing is the Africa Centre for Sustainable Cooling and Cold Chain,” said Prof Peters in the video. “Which will help to accelerate to market community cooling hubs and services across Africa.”
