Why should end users join next week’s Global CaaS E-Summit?
From commercial buildings to cold storage and even airports, the 1 December Cooling as a Service E-Summit will give end users the opportunity to engage with like-minded individuals to unpack how this game-changing model can also benefit your business.
The upcoming Global Cooling as a Service (CaaS) E-Summit kicks off on 1 December at 9am CET and features a world-class agenda of near 5around 40 speakers who will share their experience and knowledge of the revolutionary business model.
As part of the programme, two dedicated end-user sessions are scheduled to show how various users are profiting from the model in application.

Morning parallel session (11:00-11:55 CET)
The purpose of this session is to showcase the perspective of different types of end-users who are currently benefiting from the CaaS model. The two key sectors covered are commercial buildings and agricultural cold storage.
Deepak Kumar, Managing Director, Elpro International will share his perspective as a real estate developer about operating CaaS project in India. Nuhu Sa’eed, Farmer and Retailer, will then highlight their perspective as a user of ColdHubs’ pay-per-use model in Nigeria. A moderated discussion will follow.
By looking at exact, real-life examples, this session will aim to answer key questions such as:
- What were the benefits of the new and improved cooling system?
- Why did the end user opt for CaaS instead of purchasing the equipment?
- Are the users happy with the service? What are the key benefits?
- What were the challenges encountered in engaging in a CaaS contract?

Afternoon parallel session (18:15-19:05 CET)
The purpose of this session is to showcase the perspective of actors working closely with various types of end-users who could benefit from the CaaS model, while also giving space to a current user of CaaS.
Thi session will be moderated by Marc Chasserot, CEO of shecco, who will briefly look at the role of CaaS in driving the shift to natural refrigerants. The panel will include the following speakers:
- Rafael Echevarne, Director General, Airports Council International – Latin America and the Caribbean (ACI-LAC): CaaS as a solution for Airports
- Dominika Czerwinska, Director of Membership and Regional Networks, World Green Building Council: CaaS as a tool to make buildings net-zero
- Andrea Fernández, Engineering Manager, Grupo Gentor in Mexico: Perspective from a building developer currently implementing CaaS
- Andre Snyman, General Manager, Lynca Meats: The experience of a CaaS user in South Africa
The session will aim to address the following points, amongst others:
- What were the benefits and challenges to implementing CaaS as an end user?
- How important is the cooling component for buildings to reduce their emissions, and how has COVID-19 impacted the need for clean indoor air?
- How does CaaS, in particular, and servitisation for the built environment, in general, contributes towards net-zero buildings across the whole lifecycle?
- What are the benefits for building owners and operators in engaging with CaaS?
- In a post-COVID recovery period, can CaaS be a solution to help buildings reduce emissions and operating costs?
- How can CaaS overcome key barriers for building operators and owners when considering efficiency upgrades?
